Introduction
The excavations led in the summer 1930 by the American team under the direction of Leroy Watermann from the University of Michigan and then resumed from the year 1985 first by two teams, one under the direction of James F. Strange from the University of South Florida and second under the direction of Eric M. Meyers, Ehud Netzer and Carol L. Meyers from Duke University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and then by new archaeological expeditions led by Ehud Netzer, Zeev Weiss and Tsvika Tsuk from Tel Aviv University, revealed very big complex of ruins of the ancient Zippori about 6 km northwest from Nazareth.
